Is it safe to clean with household chemicals?

Arwen’s mommy, Jr. due july asked:

ok i am 19w 6d pregnant and i have been cleaning ALOT, (i thought nesting started later in pregnancy, with my daughter i was 34w when i started.) but anyways i want to know if it is safe to use chemicals such as 409, windex, scrubbing bubbles, etc…. and if not does anyone have any advice on how to clean my home without using harsh chemicals on a tight budget?

    It is fine but make sure the room you are in is always well ventilated and don’t concentrate the chemicals too much. Keep a window open or a fan on to keep the air circulating. Stop cleaning if you feel light-headed or dizzy

    I think if you can avoid it then that’s probably best for you & the environment. I use Enjo (http://www.enjo.com.au/) to clean my home, it saves money in the long term as you’ll never have to buy cleaning products again, it’s better for the environment & better for you :)

    I dont think it will be a problem cleaning with those things. You could always use a bleach solution for most of all cleaning needs. go to the clorox website for the proportions for different chores. Vinegar and water can also be used for cleaning. I use the bissel steam mop to sanitize my floors since we have 2 dogs and 2 kids under two. I LOVE this mop, and know my floors are chemical free but still clean which is important to me, especially when babies start to crawl. And I dont have to spend money on floor cleaner since it just uses water.

    Curly is right. Don’t worry, clean your little heart out. I know I did!
