Why the Need for Chemical Air freshners, when Mother nature provides her own?
cassy asked:
With all this Politics re Pollution ect. Why do we feel the need to have Chemical air fresheners in Homes?.
Mother nature provides all the natural freshners that is needed. I.E. Onions to absorb paint smells , vinegar helps smells to, also cleans just as well as bleach. Lemons to. Also we have herbs that provide such lovely Natural smells. Lavenders, Rosemary, thyme ect. All these plants can help make a home smell lovely as well as good for cooking. I dont have chemicals freshners in my home, as they extremely dangerous to pets, i.e. fish birds ect. If these Freshners can harm pets, they can also harm children and any-one with breathing problems to. So to help make more of our Carbon footprints, wouldnt it be a good idea to go back to old fashioned rememdies? after all before air freshners were invented homes still smelt great. what do you think?
Adam Try using Matches for the loo, great way to get rid of smells. ;0)

You are right.excellent alternatives.
I agree.I have used vinegar even before it was popular.I have to say that about 2 years ago I started the infusers,I love the smell…
I agree. The supermarket aisles are bursting with artificial fragrances and room fresheners. I don’t understand why people are so keen on them as they contain chemicals which may, in some cases, damage people’s health. Some of the ingredients (artificial musks for example) are also harmful to the environment.
An open window, vinegar and aromatherapy oils, pot pourris and dried herbs ( not to mention fresh flowers) are all so much pleasanter and usually cheaper too.
If you have to have air fresheners i would recommend California Scents. It’s organic and contains no chemicals. They’re in a little colorful can and sold at retail stores.
