How can I get rid of these ants with a home remedy?

I have been dealing with these pesky little things for a while now, I have used store ant killers and those ant bombs and they all work for a little bit but the ants come back. I havent seen an actual trail in the house to follow back. They are all scattered around until they find something they want. Are there any home remedies that work that I can also use on the perimeter of the house? I do have small children and a puppy so I don’t want to use a lot of chemicals, unless its a cleaning chemical that that I use on a daily basis anyway, store ant killers havent been working.

    I asked this same question a few months ago. The answer is borax. It’s sold next to laundry detergent at the grocery store. It’s a powder. You sprinkle it where they’re coming in and where they hang out.

    My dog doesn’t eat it.
